My Story
Embark on an extraordinary journey where unexpected twists and unwavering determination interweave. From nursing to business studies and makeup artistry, I was searching for creative fulfillment.
For seven blissful years, pottery provided comfort in a busy work life. But it was the chance discovery of books on Fine Art that ignited a fire within me. I commenced a five-year course, finding my artistic voice through bold colors and expressive brushwork influenced by Fauvism and Expressionism. Facing personal challenges, I felt compelled to capture the emotions of women in adversity.
Unsure about pursuing art, I studied makeup course for four years. In 2013, I took a leap of faith to pursue makeup full-time. However, unexpected setbacks redirected me back to painting in 2019 by an artist call.
The pandemic's impermanence prompted deep reflection on life's meaning and my aspiration. Amidst this, I created 'Sketching Dreams,' my first picture book sharing my dream of becoming an artist. Series like 'Coronavirus' and 'Driftwood' explored women's challenges, echoing my own experiences. Painting became solace when I lost my dearest friend to depression.
Recognition through art prizes and exhibitions fuels my drive. My artwork testifies to the transformative power of pursuing passion and embracing the unexpected. Through vibrant hues and expressive brushwork, I aim to inspire viewers, offering strength and encouragement in their own lives.
Artist Statement
As an oil painter, I specialize in creating vibrant portraits of women set against nature-inspired backdrops. Through bold color choices and dynamic brushwork, I strive to capture the intricacies of life and evoke profound emotions.
Each painting begins with a resonant reference photo, allowing me to capture the subject's emotions. Drawing inspiration from Fauvism and Expressionism, I blend unconventional colors with mesmerizing nature backgrounds, symbolizing the challenges women face. This intriguing fusion sparks viewers' imagination, memories, and personal experiences.
My artistic journey has been shaped by diverse experiences and challenges in nursing, business studies, makeup artistry, and beyond. Ultimately, painting emerged as the transformative force that ignited my true passion.
Informed by personal encounters and the adversities endured by women, my art seeks to encapsulate their emotions. The series "Coronavirus" and "Driftwood" reflect on the challenges presented by the pandemic, showcasing women's resilience and strength.
With each brushstroke, my intention is to inspire and empower viewers, symbolizing strength and offering encouragement during difficult times. By depicting life's ebbs and flows, I invite viewers to reflect on their own journeys, finding inspiration in the vibrant and emotional world I create on canvas."
